Plain language, no surprises. Here's what your GridGrade access includes, how billing works, and how refunds work.
Last updated: September 2026. These are the consumer terms for individual student access. Institutions and departments receive a separate agreement.
Student access is $19.99 for a semester (150 days) or $29.99 for a year (365 days), counted from the moment you activate it — whether you paid by card or redeemed a code. It covers every GridGrade-graded assignment in your enrolled courses for that time.
You can submit an assignment whether or not your access is active yet — your submission is recorded and time-stamped immediately, and it grades the moment access is in place. A payment step never costs you a deadline.
GridGrade produces the grades and evidence; your instructor remains the grader of record. Questions about a specific grade go to your instructor, not to us.
A purchase is a single charge for your pass (150 days for a semester pass, 365 days for a year pass). Nothing renews automatically and there is nothing to cancel. If you need access again later, you buy another pass.
Card payments are processed by Stripe on their secure hosted checkout. GridGrade never sees or stores your card number. Stripe receives only your email and the product name.
If your bookstore, department, or instructor gave you an access code, you can redeem it instead of paying — the same access your code's pass covers, no card required.
Full refund within 14 days of purchase, as long as no assignment has been graded under your access. If a grade has already been produced using your access, or more than 14 days have passed, we'll still review any reasonable request case by case — we're not looking to keep money from a student who genuinely couldn't use the product.
To request a refund, email hello@gridgrade.app from the address you used at checkout. Refunds are issued to the original payment method. A refund ends the associated access, but any grades already released to you are never taken back.
How student data is handled — our FERPA posture, minimal PII, how AI assist is used, and deletion on request — is covered on our Privacy & FERPA page. Institutional use is governed by the Institutional Terms and Student Data Addendum. You can request deletion of your data at any time by emailing hello@gridgrade.app.
GridGrade is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work hard to keep the service accurate and available, but to the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim warranties not expressly stated here, and our liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid for your access in the twelve months before the claim.
We may update these terms; material changes will be reflected here with a new "last updated" date, and continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the operator's home state.
